About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Web Developer to join our dynamic team. As a WordPress Web Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining websites using the WordPress content management system. Your primary focus will be on creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites that align with our clients' goals and objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their website requirements and objectives.
Design and develop custom WordPress themes and templates based on client specifications.
Customize existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project needs.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Ensure websites are responsive and optimized for various devices and screen sizes.
Integrate third-party APIs, plugins, and tools to enhance website functionality.
Perform website updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure website performance and usability.
Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends, technologies, and best practices.
Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other team members to deliver high-quality websites on time.
Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a WordPress Web Developer or similar role.
Strong proficiency in WordPress development, including theme and plugin development.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery.
Solid understanding of PHP and MySQL.
Experience with responsive and mobile-first design principles.
Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility and web accessibility standards.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
Background in Squarespace is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with popular WordPress page builders such as Elementor or Divi.
Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
Familiarity with graphic design software and tools.
Understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and integrations.
Familiarity with website performance optimization techniques.
Rate:
$12-15 /hour
